Feb 27, 2024 | Apprenticeships, Ladder News, News

Olivia Smith is a Level 3 Beauty Therapy Apprentice at Daniel Lewis Hairdressing and Beauty. Olivia has received her training from us here at Heart of England Training and achieved a level 2 and a level 3 in Beauty therapy.

The Level 3 Advanced Beauty Therapy Qualification

The Level 3 Advanced Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship Standard is designed to equip you with the knowledge and technical ability to implement and design bespoke treatment plans; for example, advanced technical therapies such as face and body electrical treatments to meet and manage client needs and expectations.

You will become confident to implement organisational operations, contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business and both maintain and maximise resources.

Learner Feedback

We wanted to find out what pushed Olivia to study her chosen apprenticeship with us:

“I choose to do an apprenticeship as I started off doing beauty later on in my career rather than straight from school so an apprenticeship seemed like the best option for me so I could learn as well as work and get experience in the salon. This also meant I could build up my clientele from the beginning while learning new skills and treatments to offer them! Doing an apprenticeship also meant that I could gain confidence with speaking to clients on a day-to-day basis.”

Olivia stated that she has really enjoyed her time spent studying with Heart of England Training, so we wanted to hear more of her story.

“Heart of England have taught me everything I needed to know. Even though my qualification was hit with covid and the lockdowns, they still ensured that I was learning as much as I could and help me to qualify.”

Olivia added, “Chantelle and Saj both spent the time in both my qualifications to connect with me on a personal level to help me through the bits I struggled with. They have been a massive step to me being the therapist I am today!”

How can an apprenticeship benefit you in your current role?

We asked Olivia if she felt that her apprenticeship has been beneficial to her current role and if it has helped her progress further.

“My apprenticeship was very beneficial to my role, it has helped me to go from a new beauty apprentice to now working in a highly recognised salon being the senior therapist and beauty manager with a team of 3 girls to look after as well as running a fully booked column. Taking everything, I learnt at HOET, to help take me up in my career and be a good therapist that my clients love!”

Lastly, we asked Olivia t her opinion regarding apprenticeships overall and whether she would recommend them or not:

“I would say if it’s something you are interested in then go for it! An apprenticeship really helps me in my career, but you have to be willing to put the work in and be yourself. I’m so glad I chose to do an apprenticeship as I wouldn’t be the position I am today if I didn’t! Just have to show you are passionate about the course and career you have chosen.”

Lastly, Olivia said “I would recommend an apprenticeship with HOET for both hair and beauty! I know so many people that have done both hair and beauty at HOET and are all amazing at their jobs thanks to HOET.”
