Georgia’s Career Progression Through an Apprenticeship

Sep 13, 2024 | Apprenticeships, Ladder News, News

Georgia started her career through a Business Administration apprenticeship with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training which has helped her to progress to a Marketing Coordinator role at Direct Air, based in Binley, Coventry.

Direct Air is a UK-based company that specialises in providing compressed air systems and services. They offer a range of solutions, including the supply, installation, and maintenance of compressed air equipment, such as air compressors, dryers, and filtration systems. Their services are often tailored to meet the needs of industries that rely on compressed air for operations, like manufacturing, automotive, and food processing.

Georgia’s Experience

Georgia says: “I started at Direct Air over five years ago now which is also when I enrolled onto my L3 Business Administration apprenticeship course. During the apprenticeship, I worked within multiple departments at Direct Air to gain a wider range of skills by shadowing staff in Service Support roles and Accountant positions before finally landing and settling in the Marketing department. Once I successfully completed my apprenticeship I was offered the new role of Marketing Coordinator, which I was thrilled to accept as I felt it perfectly reflected the stage I’d reached, and all the hard work demonstrated throughout my apprenticeship.

Since then, I’ve completed my Level 4 qualification in Professional Digital Marketing which I would not have been able to begin without already having the Level 3 Business Admin qualification under my belt from my Chamber apprenticeship. This aided my career progression even further and allowed my responsibilities to broaden more, resulting in my job title altering slightly to Marketing & Sales Coordinator at Direct Air.

I cannot fault either the Chamber or Direct Air, as the brilliant support I received throughout my apprenticeship ensured that completing the course was a really enjoyable experience.”

Benefits of doing an Apprenticeship

Georgia says: “I think apprenticeships are beneficial because they’re a great way to continue learning whilst earning money and becoming part of the team at your workplace. Apprenticeships also offer the chance to gain real-world experience in a professional setting. By working alongside experienced professionals in the workplace, apprentices can learn first-hand from the best and gain hands-on experience which will be invaluable for their future and career development. The diversity of apprenticeships available gives such a range of choice and means that there is a course suitable for everyone’s career interests.”
