Aisha Edmunds, a Level 3 Accountancy Apprentice, is making remarkable progress in her career at Bowie Lockwood Structure. Her journey into the field of accounting began when she worked as an Office Junior and provided support to the accountant in the office. This experience ignited her passion for accounting and sparked her curiosity about the numerous opportunities that a career in accountancy could offer. Aisha seized the apprenticeship route, which allowed her to gain valuable knowledge and practical experience while working at Bowie Lockwood Structure, all while pursuing a degree through Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training.
In her role as an accountancy apprentice, Aisha has several responsibilities during her daily tasks. These include monitoring queries in the accounts department inbox, printing invoices and delivery notes, and handling job costing for the manufacturing of buildings. Aisha enjoys the intricacies of different processes and identifying areas where the company’s efficiency can be improved.
Throughout her apprenticeship, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training has provided Aisha with a supportive network. The teacher assessors are readily available to offer guidance and address any queries she may have. Additionally, all apprentices have access to an online platform that enhances their learning experience and ensures they have the most up-to-date documents and learning materials at their disposal.
When asked about advice for aspiring accountants, Aisha shared, “I would suggest taking a close look at your career aspirations and ultimate goals as an accountant. Having a clear vision of where you want to go will give you something to strive for beyond just going through the motions. While it requires personal dedication and hard work, the journey is immensely rewarding once you attain the full qualification.”
